The Parish Church of St. Mary Nantwich is acknowledged to be one of the finest medieval town churches. Mostly fourteenth century construction, it is the largest such church not forming part of a monastic settlement. Built on the grand scale it has significant features in common with the cathedrals at Lichfield, Chester, Gloucester and Wells. The fine octagonal tower is a feature for miles around South Cheshire.
Nantwich Church is a major tourist attraction with estimated visitors totalling 50,000 per year. The visitors include numerous school parties, visiting church parties, coach party "stop-offs"and casual visitors who all come to see:

- the rare 14th Century stone pulpit
- the splendid 14th Century Chancel with its "lierne" vaulting
